Our stocking cistern for rainwater
We could not find any concrete cistern already made. Neither small nor big. Every drinking water tank is made out of polyurethane or polyethylene. The tank we made with cement bricks 20 cm wide is covered by cement in the outside. In the inside we have used cement and lime. We put tiled floor at the bottom for cleaning more easily. There is one tank allowing the dirty rainwater to settle. The tank for the rainwater can receive 11000 l. The tank is covered by one layer of earth 50 cm depth to keep fresh the water. At the bottom of the tank, and before to put the cement layer, we put one polyethylene pipe to make the water running through it for refreshing one room in the house or as refrigerator, we don’t know yet.
